  A publicly quoted national retailer is seeking an individual to lead their data and analytics function and transform its activity to enhance business performance, customer engagement and revenue generation. Reporting to the ‘C’ suite, the role will have responsibility for the development and leadership of data strategy, data governance and management, data warehousing, analytics and insight. across all areas of the business.

  Specifically, responsibilities include building and nurturing a dynamic data and analytics team, formulating a comprehensive roadmap for the function, inspiring and educating colleagues about data capability, fostering knowledge and competence within the business functions, and fostering a data culture grounded in insights and actions. In addition you will lead a team leveraging data science techniques to define, address and improve forecasting, create tangible business value as well as utilise data to project future scenarios and constructing prescriptive models for automated decision-making, collaborating closely with all functions, fostering robust partnership relationships, and ensuring that data needs are met and actionable insights are available to all end-users.

  The company is seeking an individual with proven leadership skills in a data and analytics role, preferably within a retail business or customer facing organisation, who has a transformative and change-oriented mindset, combined with an enthusiasm for the potential of new data technologies to deliver value for the business and customers. You will have excellent interpersonal skills, both in written and oral forms, with a knack for influencing business stakeholders as well as prior involvement in leading data initiatives within business-focused digital functions, translating business requirements into valuable deliverables.
